Celebrating

Spinning!

Arms outstretched.  Head tipped back.  Eyes closed.

Sunlight bathed the young girl as she twirled around and around in the field of wild flowers.  Her bare feet made little noise on the turf as she spun, celebrating the freedom from the orderly life of the school day on this, the first day of summer vacation.

Dizzy, she slowed, collapsing in on herself, settling to the earth in a breathless state.  Near by lay her book bag, shoes and socks.  A smile expressed her shear joy of life as she reached for her belongings and stepped back into her responsibilities
