“Just a
little further.”
“I can do
it.”
“Almost.”
“Ugh, come
on I can do it.”
Susie
stretched up on her tiptoes, her hand reaching to the highest shelf in the
pantry. She knew she could stand
on a chair to reach it, but that would violate her rule holding her to getting
it without assistance. It was the
only way she would allow her family to have snacks in the house while she
struggled to lose weight.
Her
fingers touched the package and eased it out. A smile lit up her face as she beheld the parcel of cookies.
