He stood
on the ridge looking across the wasteland spread out before him ending in the
distance at the base of another ridge.
It had been a hard climb to the top.
In the end he had scrabbled, clutching at rocks, slipping and catching
himself before he tumbled back down the gravelly slope.
There was
nothing to see in front of him, turning back to look the way he came he saw
nothing but the same barren, landscape he had worked his way through. Could he have gotten the directions wrong? Should he have gone the other way?
