Night Sky

She stood in the dark gazing up at the night sky.  The dome of stars soaring above filled her eyes with wonder as she lost herself in the immensity of the black velvet expanse sprinkled with an infinite number of glinting lights.

It’s so beautiful she thought, definitely worth the long drive up from the city.  She did not believe as the others did that the world would end that night, instead she simply took in the glorious sight.

Suddenly, the group of stargazers was bathed in light.

“This is private property.  The park entrance is just down the road.”
