For two days the snow had fallen, piling up and covering
everything.
Two young children waded out into the snow, their heads
covered with woolen hats, their faces covered with scarves, bundled in bulky
snowsuits with feet cozy in insulated boots, they moved slowly forward. The taller one went first, pushing into
the snow to make a path. The
younger one followed.
They reached their goal and with fierce determination set to
digging. Soon two sleds were
uncovered and they shouted with glee.
Today they would not be contained inside, today would be
spent sliding and playing in childish abandon.
