“What are we going to do today?”
“Hmmm.”
“Any ideas?”
“Hmmm.”
“We could go to the store. You could get me a new pair of jeans. I need a new pair.”
“Hmmm.”
“What are you doing?
You aren’t even listening.
Mom?” Tina said reaching
out and touching her mother on the arm.
“Sorry, sweetheart.”
Cindy said removing her hands from the dishwater, drying them on a towel
and pulling the tiny ear headphone out of her ear. “I was listening to a song I loved when I was your age. This iPod thingy you and Dad gave me is
great.”
